the australian finger lime (citrus australasica f.muell., rutaceae)(fig. 1) is an emerging crop on
the international scene and its unusual shaped fruits fetch high prices in the markets because of the
its scarcity and amazing fruit with effervescent vesicles which are used in all kinds of cuisine. this
report will review and comment upon most of the published information on this species as concerns
australia as well as c. australasica and related species of citrus in thailand. the species is
presently being grown for the first time in eastern thailand in the ubon ratchathani province,
where over 300 trees have been recently planted in three farms (fig. 13). very few biological
studies of any kind have been published on c. australasica in thailand and most, if not all aspects
of its pollination biology, growth, disease resistance/susceptibility etc. are totally unknown there.
